Musical Day with Children

 


The DWIT Music Club, in collaboration with the Social Service Club, conducted an event 'Musical Day with Children' on 27th August 2022. We spent some time with the children at the 'Sarita Bhawan' orphanage where we played games and sang songs to the children.

The selected participants assembled at the college premises at 11:15 a.m and departed at around 11:30 a.m. We reached the orphanage at noon. Altogether there were 9 children whose ages ranged from 8 to 15 years old. We then gathered the children in a room and sat together in a circle. The excited children introduced themselves to us and so did we. After the introduction, we sang songs for them and they enthusiastically sang along with us. Then we played a couple of games namely  Antakshyari and Truth or Dare. They enjoyed the games a lot and learned more about them. Then at around 2:30 p.m, it was time for us to leave. Before we departed, we gave the children copies and stationeries as a farewell gift.

The Open Mic | November 11

  The Open Mic was successfully held by the Music Club on November 11th.    The event got underway about 4:20. The event was hosted by our club member,  Kripa Acharya . The session was commenced by a young participant from grade 8,  Ishan Kumar , and his father. They sang "I'm yours" and "Take me home,Country roads." The session, which took place in the DFS Canteen Area, was lively. We celebrated music under the open sky with a soft breeze beating our faces.  There was active participation from students from different batches. The event got even more fun because of our enthusiastic and patient audiences, which encouraged the performers to give their best.  Along with the students of DWIT, employees working around our college also attended the event. Guess The Song

  Guess The Song The  DWIT Music Club  successfully conducted the event  Guess The song  on  August 5th, 2022 .  In short, it was a fun game in which the participating teams had to guess the music while competing against other teams. The event started around  4:00 p.m ., with eight teams competing in front of a friendly audience. In the  first round , the teams had to guess the title of the song and the artist's name. In the  second round , the teams had to complete the lyrics of the displayed songs. Following the second round, the  third round  was amusing as the teams needed one of their members to explain the song to their team members by humming it., Finally, reckon the  fourth round  in which the teams had to guess the title of the songs edited in reverse. Lastly, around  5:30 p.m ., we began a bonus round where the teams had to recognize songs edited in a random manner to bring the contest to a close. ...

Antakshari Competition

On the date of 19th October 2022, DWIT Music Club organized the Antakshari Competition. “Antakshari” has always been a childhood fun game to play with friends and family so we thought it would be fun to bring it back as a friendly event.  The event started around 4:30 PM, there were 5 teams having 3 participants each in a team. The first team got to sing the song they desired, and the line they stopped at, the last letter of the last word sung is used by the next team. The round was getting pretty interesting as every team was competing against each other. This lasted for several rounds with the presence of active participants as well as the audiences. For the final round, the team who raised their hand at first got to sing from the letter that our host randomly provided. The team who could sing the song were provided 5 points whereas for those who could not, 5 points were deducted.
